A familiar option for small and compact RVs, a twin-sized RV mattress is available in two sizes. Twin mattresses in RVs are found in 28 inches wide and 75 inches long and 28 inches wide and 80 inches long. If you have an RV that is more on the condensed side, opt for the first one. On the other hand, if your camper is more on the slender and longer side, opt for the second one. It all depends on the total size of the RV that you need to select. You can either place it side by side or as bunk beds - considering you have the option.

    Truck Size Mattress

As understandable from the name, truck size mattresses are mostly used in semi-trucks but are also compatible with RVs. Coming to the sizes, it has two, namely 35 inches wide and 79 inches long and 42 inches wide and 80 inches long. Truck mattress sizes are most suitable for taller people, and if you are one, you’ve just got your match.

    RV Bunk Mattress:

You recently went on the famous Blue Ridge Parkway trip on a family-friendly RV and loved the bunk beds. You planned to buy a bunk comprising RV the same month but found the mattresses are not worthy of rest. You definitely do not want your trip to be tiresome, especially when traveling with family. Check the RV bunk mattresses below for understanding which camper mattress sizes you’d need:

RV Bunk: 28 inches wide and 75 inches long
RV Bunk: 30 inches wide and 75 inches long
RV Bunk: 30 inches wide and 80 inches long
RV Bunk: 34 inches wide and 75 inches long
RV Bunk: 35 inches wide and 79 inches long

Note: Don’t just buy any bunk mattress, measure your bunk bed size.

    Three-quarter RV Mattress Sizes

A bit larger than the twin and bunk mattresses but smaller than the full-size RV mattress; the three-quarter mattress measures 48 inches wide and 75 inches long. It is perfect for those bunched RVs where space crunch wouldn’t accommodate a full or double RV mattress size. It might be able to adjust two kids, though, depending on their ages.

Double or Full Size RV Mattress Size

The most common of all, double or full-size RV mattress measures 53 inches wide and 75 inches long and is an inch smaller than our regular household twin mattresses. It is compact and highly suitable for single sleepers.

    Short Queen RV Mattress Size

This short queen RV mattress simply goes by its name. Measuring 60 inches wide and 75 inches long, it is only 5 inches narrower than our home’s queen mattress. If you are traveling with your partner, this one is the ideal RV mattress size. This helps you achieve a serene and convenient sleep without taking up much space.

    RV Queen Mattress Size

This one is the queen mattress that we have in our homes. Measuring 60 inches wide and 80 inches long, it is quite enormous considering being placed in an RV. If your RV has abundant space, then you can think of placing it in. There is no such difference between an RV queen mattress vs regular queen mattress in dimensions.

    RV King Mattress Size

RV king mattress size is the biggest; if you have a huge RV to take  your whole family on a trip, then an RV king mattress is the best choice. RV king size dimensions measure 72 inches wide and 75 inches long, and 72 inches wide and 80 inches long. You can travel with your partner and kids as well. It can effortlessly accommodate a couple with a kid or four kids. Some RVs have a pop-up that offers an adaptation of two king-size mattresses, enabling a full-house family picnic.

    RV Mattress Types

You do not have to compromise your sleep because of the degraded mattress quality attached with the RVs. Generally, the ones that come with the RVs comprise 5 to 6 inches of thickness and are RV foam mattresses - not so comfy as your home mattress. Therefore, you can select and choose the perfect RV mattress size for your one.

    Memory Foam Mattress

As we all know, memory foam mattresses have the healing power to relieve pressure points and joints. You can invest in a memory foam mattress for your RV, especially a gel one, if your RV lacks air conditioning and travels somewhere humid. Opt for a memory foam mattress protector if you don’t wish to invest in a complete memory foam mattress. The cost of these mattresses ranges from $400 to $1000, depending on the brand and material.

    Latex Mattress

This provides a snuggly feel but not as much as a memory foam one. If you manage to buy an organic latex mattress, you are opting for a sustainable, hypoallergenic product that resists dust, mites, and more. However, it might be a bit heavy on pockets, with its cost ranging from $900 to $1500.

    Innerspring Mattress

More on the affordable price range of $250 to $600, an innerspring mattress is the typical coiled mattress we encounter. It offers pillow-top cushioning to save your back from the coils underneath. There is a high propensity for the coils to rust, especially when traveling somewhere hot and moist.

    Air Mattress

RV air mattress is a seemingly eye-catchy option because of the lightweight factor, but it is not a long-term investment. It will not give you much comfort while resting because of incomplete support. There is an option to adjust the firmness level, but the risk of a tiny leakage will always circle your mind. You definitely don’t wish to undergo the painstaking process of filling the air in your mattress in the middle of your trip, right?

After spending quite some money on your RV, you would definitely not want to stay awake because of the impaired quality of the mattress. Thoroughly go through the RV mattress sizes and invest in the one that suits your RV’s size, the number of people traveling, budget, and more. Make your RV trip the most memorable one.
