Tips to Wake Up Looking Younger
Beyonce may have given us false expectations when she introduced, “I woke up like this” into pop culture. While sleep is super restful and good for you (especially on new beds and mattresses from Nectar), often we can wake up in the morning looking a little, well, frumpy. You know what I’m talking about. We can look red faced, puffy, and, well, old. There’s a lot that your body does while you sleep, including many regenerative things that can help reduce wrinkles, Here at Nectar we are passionate about new beds and mattresses, but we are also passionate about giving you the tools to be your best self. No one gets psyched when they look in the mirror and see a fresh wrinkle or big bags under their eyes, especially when they’ve just slept a bunch. So We’ve compiled a list of tips to try while sleeping on your comfortable Nectar mattress to make sure that you’re getting the absolute most out of your sleep time. This is a great way to have a youthful glow without using extra salves or facial creams. So crawl into bed, read up, and watch the years melt off.
Listen to Your Dentist
It may sound funny, but your dentist could actually help you with your sleep woes. Many, many people grind their teeth when they sleep. Not only can this lead to dental problems, it can actually inflame the muscles of your jaw, making your face look puffy in the morning. Over a longer period of time it can actually alter the bone structure of your face, as your mouth collapses in on itself. Sounds scary, right? Well luckily it’s an easy fix. Many dentists prescribe mouthguards for sleep grinders. If that sounds pricey, then you can get your own DIY mouthguard kit from the internet. It might take a little getting used to, but the results make it definitely worth it.
Try a New Sleep Position
If you’re a stomach or side sleeper, you could be putting undue stress on your face. There’s an old adage that sleeping on your back can help keep your facial skin soft and baby-like, while the results of this may be overblown, we have covered the benefits of sleeping on your back in previous Nectar blogs. If you’re a stomach sleeper, give it a try. Mashing your face into an old pillow can’t be good for it, though if you have to, Nectar’s new beds and mattresses offer great support and supreme comfort to minimize the effects.
Use a Humidifier for a Better Night’s Sleep
If you’re waking up with oily or dry skin, you might want to try putting a humidifier in your room. Leaving a humidifier on can help with dehydrated skin, keeping you fresher for longer. Much of what we talk about in the aging process is actually due to dehydration, so it’s also great to have a glass of water by your bed (and as always, to limit dehydrating substances like alcohol). So there you have it. Great ways to stay youthful and glowing while enjoying the comforts of your Nectar mattress. Do you have any solid tips on beauty sleep? We’d love to hear them!
