Tackle a Good Night’s Rest and Prepare for the Big Game
The super bowl is right around the corner, and that means big time parties! While it’s always rad to have a bunch of your best friends over to watch the big game, that stress can sometimes take a toll on your immune system AND the sleep cycle that you’ve come to know and cherish. Not only that, but the food that you’re eating can a lot of times wreak havoc on your digestive tract and leave you with a crucial sleepless night, right before the party is about to go down.
With that in mind, we’ve come up with some reasons why it makes sense to not sacrifice sleep before the big game. Yes, there’s some stress that is associated with party planning, but don’t let that affect your sleep game. Sleep is so integral to our lives that even professional athletes have taken notice. Tom Brady supposedly sleeps at least ten hours every night to keep at peak performance, and he’s won a ton of super bowls! While that’s probably not necessary for you, it really is important to make time to rest. So tackle a good night’s sleep and get ready to ball, because the biggest game of the year is just around the corner.
Sleeping More Makes You a Better Host
You might think it’s corny, but sleeping totally makes you a better host. There’s a ton of new evidence to suggest that sleeping makes you a better, more empathetic person, who doesn’t jump to emotional conclusions. That’s gonna be for the best when you need to stay cool as Uncle Ron decides to yell at your party about your favorite player being a total bonehead. Let calmer heads prevail. Not only that, you’ll be alert, ready to go, and totally aware when you’re making snacks. Don’t let a bunch of pigs in a blanket be burned because you dozed off while they were in the oven! Just like your favorite team, it’s the attention to detail that makes the difference between a super bowl success story, and a complete horror show. That attention only comes after a night of great sleep on a good mattress.
Sleeping Better Makes for Better Guests
As always, it’s not all about you when it comes to parties. If you’re hosting people for the big game, you’re going to want to make sure they’re well rested too. That means getting rid of the chincy air mattress that you have in the den. Those mattresses promote poor sleep hygiene, and oftentimes will leave your guests feeling ornery, irritable, and just plain rude. Don’t let that happen to you! It’s important to give your guests the sleep they deserve, not only will it make their lives better, it’ll help you too. No more crabby kids that need to be put to bed before the fourth quarter, this way it will be all about the game when it actually matters.
It’s also never been cheaper to get a quality mattress, so if you’re on the fence about getting one for the guest bedroom, now might be the time to pull the trigger. Your guests will thank you. The only problem is making sure that they want to leave. With a new mattress like that, you could be fielding your own football team before too long.
